Class
Association Purpose
The purpose
of the Fayetteville-Manlius High School (Class of) '56 Class
Association is to bring members of the 1956 Graduating Class of
Fayetteville-Manlius High School together for the purposes of:
-
Disseminating pertinent contact/family information, annually,
among Asociation members,
-
Providing
semi-annual information to Association members as to class news,
activities (formal or informal) and information of general class
interest,
-
Maintaining a class website (www.FM56.ORG) under technical control
of a Class Webmaster,
-
Maintaining
a (variable) fund for distribution to Association members at
the time of subequent formal class reunions (pro-rata) to defray
their personal registration costs.(Notwithstanding membership
in the "Association", ALL class members will receive
one piece of correspondence from the Association Secretary annually.)"
Eligibility
Eligible
for FULL membership are those individuals who graduated from FMHS
on 6/22/56, or in selected cases, those having a valid FMHS diploma
(or GED) dated between 6/22/56 and 12/31/56.
ASSOCIATE
status is open to those persons having been in the class at any
time from 9/1/52 and 6/22/56 but who are not graduates of the Class
of 1956 based on the full membership definition."
Member
Benefits
For
your dues you will receive an annual class roster, at least two
newsletters per year, support maintenance of the class website with
it's own domain name, AND support the planning functions and non-personal
costs of the next reunion--in this case perhaps 2002, and if not
(cumulatively), 2006. In the latter case excess funds will be used
to offset (non-personal) reunion general registration costs.
Finances
Jay
Hern has opened a FM56 account at the F&M Bank in Vienna, Virginia.
Initial deposit included residual Travel Club funds and Class Association
dues received to date. The account is free checking at present and
once the balance reaches $1250 it will revert to an interest bearing
account (I suspect in about 2 years based on reasonable participation).
Jay
will be accounting for all funds in their appropriate catagories.
The Newsletter Editor should send collected funds to me expeditiously
for deposit and in the future request budgetary withdrawal for subsequent
costs/editions. Funds will be accounted for in the following categories:
Roster/Gen'l Info, Web Maintenance, Newsletter, and General Revenue
(Reunion support).
