FOUNDATION

The FMHS Class of 1956 held their 50th class reunion June 14-17, 2006. At the formal reunion banquet the class voted to provide a gift to the F-M Education Foundation. No overall class gift had previously been provided to the Foundation, although some members had individually contributed to it in prior years. All funds are for special projects/teaching grants and may not be placed in the genereal foundation fund. To date, the contributions total $1,870 (now $2,000).
Since the Class of '56 actually graduated from the building that is now Wellwood Middle School, the class decided to divide the gift between Wellwood and the current F-M High School. During the reunion, Wellwood Principal, Mr. John Almonte, and High School Principal, Mr. James Chupaila, provided excellent tours of their schools.
After a number of attempts to organize class members beginning in 1998, the Alumni Association was established in 2001. Currently, there are 70 members of the Alumni Association, totaling 83 percent. Association dues are paid annually and used to fund class activities such as reunions newsletters, the annual class roster, class website maintenance (www.FM56.org) and association administration.
